About 145four

Meet the Founder

Ministry isn't just what I do. It's what I've given my life to.

Certified Church Consultant — Church Consultation University

I'm Jason Gossett. For more than two decades, I've served the local church—walking alongside students, families, volunteers, and ministry leaders.

I've seen ministry at its best, and I've walked through seasons when things didn't go according to plan. Along the way, I've learned that ministry isn't about perfect strategies, bigger budgets, or newer programs.

It's about people.

It's about helping people know Jesus, developing leaders, and creating environments where people belong, grow, serve, and help others follow Jesus.

Let's start a conversation
Jason and Christi Gossett, founders of 145four Church Consulting

I believe in the local church.

I believe God has uniquely called every church to its community, and that every church has a mission worth pursuing. I also know that leaders can get so close to the work that it's hard to see what others can see.

That's where an outside voice helps.

My role isn't to point out what you're doing wrong. It's to listen, ask questions, challenge assumptions, bring perspective, and help you build a path forward.

Why 145four?

The name comes from Psalm 145:4—one generation telling the next about the greatness of God. That captures what I believe about ministry: what we build today should help someone follow Jesus tomorrow.

I'm not interested in helping churches simply do more ministry. I'm interested in helping them do ministry that matters.

A partner, not a report.

I don't want to hand you a 40-page report and leave. I want to be a partner you can call when decisions are difficult, someone who helps your team ask better questions and turn vision into practical next steps.

Because I've been there. And I know what it's like to wonder, “What do we do next?”

Why 145four?

At 145four Consulting, we don't believe healthy ministry comes from copying someone else's model, chasing the latest trend, or adding another program to an already full calendar. We believe healthy ministry begins with listening, understanding your unique context, clarifying your mission, and building a strategy your people can actually live out.

Experience You Can Trust

We've spent years in the local church—not simply studying ministry from a distance. We've led teams, developed volunteers, worked with students and families, built ministry strategies, planned events, developed discipleship systems, navigated change, and experienced the everyday realities of church leadership.

We understand ministry because we've lived it.

A Partner, Not a Prescription

Your church isn't like every other church. Your community is different. Your people are different. Your history is different. Your opportunities are different. So your strategy should be different too.

We don't come in with a predetermined answer and tell you what your church needs. We listen first. Then we help you discover the right questions, identify the real challenges, and build solutions that fit your church.

Practical, Not Just Theoretical

A great strategy doesn't matter if nobody knows what to do with it. Our goal is to move from conversation to actionable next steps. You'll leave with clarity about:

  • What matters most
  • What needs to change
  • What needs to stay
  • What needs to stop
  • Who needs to be developed
  • What your team should focus on next
  • How you'll know you're making progress

We don't just want to give you ideas. We want to help you build a plan you can actually implement.

People Before Programs

It's easy for churches to measure activity. How many attended? How many programs happened? How many volunteers showed up? But activity isn't the same thing as transformation.

We believe the church's primary mission is to make disciples. That means our conversations always come back to people: Are people becoming more like Jesus? Are leaders being developed? Are disciples making disciples? Is the church becoming healthier?

Built for the Long Haul

We're not interested in creating dependency. Our goal is to help you become healthier and more confident as a leader—and to equip your team to carry the ministry forward. The best consulting relationship eventually makes the consultant less necessary. Because the goal isn't to build our ministry. It's to help you build yours.

We Bring Three Things to the Table

A Shepherd's Heart

We care about people before programs, and we understand that ministry decisions affect real people.

A Strategist's Mind

We help you step back from the day-to-day noise, identify what's really happening, and develop a clear path forward.

A Practitioner's Perspective

We've been in the room. We've led the meetings. We've recruited the volunteers. We've worked with families. We've built the calendars. We've faced the challenges. And we've learned along the way.

The 145four Difference

We Listen Before We Lead.

We Clarify Before We Build.

We Simplify Before We Add.

We Develop People Before We Develop Programs.

We Build for Multiplication, Not Dependence.

That's the 145four difference.

What guides us

Scripture-first

Strategy serves the mission, never the other way around. Everything we recommend is anchored in the church's calling.

Alongside, not above

We don't hand down binders and leave. We walk with your team through implementation until the change sticks.

Next-generation focus

A church that loses its students loses its future. We keep the next generation at the center of every plan.
